DJI is proud to announce the Spreading Wings S900, our latest aerial system for the professional creator. The S900 is a distillation of our latest technology into a lightweight, easy to carry platform. Its strong, compact frame provides exceptional stability in most flight conditions, and its new power distribution board improves efficiency and safety. Six of our most powerful motors are attached to the carbon fiber arms, allowing a takeoff weight of up to 8.2kg. When transporting, the arms fold down and the 15-inch propellers fold in, reducing space and making it easy to take anywhere.

Is this smaller than an 800?

No. The S900 is 900 mm diagonal and the S800 is 800 mm. The S1000 is 1045 mm.

Ah, they keep talking about it being a lightweight, easy to carry sort of thing.

The S900 folds like the S1000 in that the arms fold downwards.

Not really what I would call easy to carry, but certainly easier to carry that a un-folded 900 mm airframe. Certainly easier to transport folded than a unfolded fixed type. The S800 arms were removable and it can pack up smaller but you'll have to assemble them at the field.
