I went to the park this evening to test my latest Naza settings. The F550 flew the best it has yet for me, althought I am still not super impressed with it compared to my GAUI 500X. On my second battery I had a in flight blade failure of one of the stock DJI propellers. The hexacopter just rolled suddenly left and there was nothing I could do as I was luckily, or unluckily, relatively close to the ground and it was thick grass. The only other damage was a second propeller. Fortunately the propellers that broke were a left and right hand so I have spares. I was also lucky in that just previously I had flown the highest I have yet with this machine and had the propeller failed up there I'm sure I would have had more damage.
This video is exactly how mine reacted and what I saw from my pilot position. It pitched hard to one side and rolled over. My theory is that because there is no place to grip when tightening the spinner we are all gripping the propeller weakening it. TIP FOR DJI: Make a notch where the supplied in the kit wrench can fit on the motor body and provide two of those wrenches so we can hold the top of the motor body instead of the propeller when tightening.
