Great news for us techies but still way too expensive. I like all the new tech stuff coming out but I've never been a fan of being on the "bleeding" edge  :D

The cost per GB is still high compared to HDDs even though this new Crucial SSD is breaking new ground cost wise.  I got a SSD when I built my new desktop and I have to say I feel the investment was well worth it.  I feel that if you need a computer for work and time is money then the extra cost is easy to write off as time saved.  All I can say is fast, fast, fast.

Another place where a SSD makes sense, besides the speed, are laptops that get handled a little rough since there are no moving parts to fail.

    Only $599

I spent less to build my entire rig...

It's made out of Adamantium and duct tape, two things that will never, ever fail.

In all seriousness, it's going to crash sometime and I'm going to be pissed when it does.

I think Unobtainium is tougher than Adamantium, but I agree with you on duct tape.
