It's not uncommon in Europe that a person, or company, be forced to make a public apology which is typically done in newspapers. Part of the Apple vs. Samsung case in the United Kingdom, which Apple lost, was that Apple would apologize to Samsung that Samsung had not infringed their patents. Apple did so but in such a way as to make it read like a non-apology. Now the judge has given Apple 48 hours to redo the apology. Forced public apologies are something we need to do here in America.
