    I think this one is a really good idea. They just didn't bother with any fancy crash avoidance stuff, it just bounces off whatever it hits and keeps going. Did you hear the part in the video where they said they let it loose in a forest with only a magnetometer and programmed it to find it's way to the other side of the forest?

    The inner flying bits are inside that outer gimbaled shield. We should do something like this for a quad. Since a quad already has four arms to pivot on it should be relatively easy to make. Their outer shield is made from carbon fiber rod but I don't know where you can get those couplings. Maybe they are 3D printed?
