Point being is his DIY hack, the lenses he mounted must be better than the stock lens! Or it at least gives one photographic options even the GoPro can't do in it's stock version. So given total cost of the cam and DIY hack giving teh ability to fly a camera on an aircraft that is not large enough to fly a GoPro it looks like pretty good way to go. IMO it's better to think about waht it can do rather than what it can't do!
GPS - "It still ain't no GoPro...". Man... That's the best part! PP - What this camera needs now is a new case with a more elegant lens mounting solution and a built in switching bec. The performance is upgraded enough now that it might be worth it. They have been sticking with the same basic form factor for a long time now, which is encouraging. ...Tiger
Yeah, had the same thought, new case/lens options, but hack into it and come up with remote start stop via RC. GPS, at $45.00 it makes the scary/no recovery/ocean flights a lot less scary.
Yeah, that is kind of the thing isn't it. If you fly a piece of junk, like that guy's $29 foamie in the video, then why not also fly a piece of junk camera. Who cares if it gets lost or sinks in some lake or ocean. If you fly a decent model with all the fixings the least of your worries is the camera.
