Just joined the site. I have been researching cars because my stepson has one and wants me to get one so we can have a hobby together. Been out of the rc game since about 2013, but the addiction is back!

I started out with the first real RC cars that were Tamya with the little sealed body.
Now I have several quadcopters to play with.

I started with scratch built foamies and have moved on to larger glow/gas planes. I'm currently building a vintage 81" Bridi CAP 20L kit and an 68" ARF P-51. I want to start flying FPV on my planes, because it's as close as I can get to the cockpit right now. I'll be testing it out on my RV-8 on Thursday, so we'll see how that goes...

After a 30 year hiatus from the R/C world, I am slowly getting back into the hobby.

The 'bug' bit me again a few months ago when I discovered my daughters unopened "Stealth Flyer II" infra-red helicopter that she left in her room when she moved out. She had had if for years, and never even opened the box.

I decided to 'confiscate' it, and open it. Even though it was just a 'toy' I had a great time crashing it, and even flying it around the house before I finally broke it...

While Grants Pass native, I just recently started my voyage into RC when I picked up a Phantom 2 Quadrotor. I'm in the process of learning to fly and setting up FPV. I've got a lot to learn and this forum looks like a great resource.

In 2012 we purchased a place to snowbird during the winter months.
Feb. 2013 during our first winter visit, our Oregon home was burglarized.
So we hi tailed it back to Oregon to clean up the mess.
Crunched the numbers, sold our Oregon home, moved to Sun City full-time May 31, 2014

I haven't hooked up with the local RC crowd yet but have visited a local in-door dirt track and hobby shop just...

I'm Steve. I'm new to to the rc hobby got into it woth my dad we both figuredcthat it was a fairly inexpenice hobby to get into together. I am in to the off road cars. I started small n have a traxxas stampede and moved to nitro red cat racing caldera 3.0 4x4. I have a couple questions.. first is there a group or club that gets together or people who like to just take cars out for fun.
