I picked up a new on-road chassis, it's a XRay T3 2011. This chassis is really sweet and has a lot of tuning possibilities. I also got a Speed Passion brushless 17.5 motor and ESC combo but I think I will put them in my Team Associated TC5 chassis.

I also wanted a XRay for a while and I got lucky on eBay.  I will probably get a Novak sensored brushless motor and ESC for it, nothing too crazy.  I want to get a group of guys together and start a 1/10 scale on-road group at the middle school on Harbeck in Grants Pass.  I ran across the VTA (http://www.usvintagetransam.com/) website and I kind of like the concept of a class limited somewhat in the cars motor system so it's more about the driver and not who can throw the most money out there.  I know there are a bunch of guys with TC4s and TC3s in the area that I hope will dust off their machines.  The VTA idea also has a certain amount of "scale-ness" to it in respect to the bodies although I do also like some of the modern car bodies like the Saleen and McLaren F1.

I also still have the Team Associated TC5 I got recently and am putting a Speed Passion brushless sensored motor and ESC in that chassis.  I might sell that car when I'm done.

It's interesting to look at the XRay T3 2011 and Team Associated TC5 chassis side-by-side and see the way the two companies designed the suspensions and adjustments.

I had both chassis at the indoor fly-and-drive last night to show Adam from Sleadd's.  I know Sleadd's is more focused on off-road, but maybe if they stocked a TC4 or other on-road cars people would get into it.

You should come out to one of the indoor fly-and-drives sometime.  There is getting to be quite a good size group for both the flying and the driving.  It's fun to see what everyone brings.  Last night there was a very cool tri-copter there.  A lot of smaller indoor helicopters also.

It will be for both.  The tires in the photos are drift tires...finally got them all mounted up on my sweet BBS style wheels.

Not sure yet.  I have a few but I'm thinking one like my girls TC4, a Dodge Stratus.  I have a really cool McLaren F1 body but I was saving that for airbrush painting.

I painted a Stratus body. What do you think? You can't tell from the photo but the hood is carbon fiber. It looks a lot better in person. It's a candy red metallic. The rear wing is still in progress.

Lookin good. So i test my tires with my drift settings. My camber made the knuckle cut off the end of the dog bone. Ill have to set them back even next try.

That's a bummer.  With these tires I don't expect to need any extreme camber settings.  In fact I believe I can set the car up optimized for on-road with sticky tires and get great drift results just by changing tires.

BTW, I think my Castle Creations 5700 kv motor is equivalent to your 8 turn motor so we should be pretty evenly matched for on-road depending on the gearing.

I painted the rear wing jet black. I think it looks good with the rest of the paint scheme. What do you think about it? The camera does not catch the color well at all, it's a really nice red not orange.

Now I just have to trim the body posts and do some soldering.

OK.  I just need to solder on a battery connector to the ESC now so I am almost ready too.  I might go and test it if I have a Traxxas male connector around here.

We have three Associated 18R on-road cars.
