Well it's been awhile since I've bought myself something NEW and Cool,
... except this is more like "something NEW and HOT" or at least runs hot

Just showing off my new Video Card, ZOTAC Geforce GTX 760

    Thanks for Looking ...

Congratulations on the new graphic card w00d. That should turn your Photoshopping on fire.

    Thanks GP
... Yeah, using the on-board graphics is NO fun, literally NO fun ... No gaming or anything that needs 3D support that's fro sure.
... I was even getting tired of having to look at videos at nothing better than 240p

 On-board graphics truly SUK as I'm sure you know!

This new card is way better than hoped,
... Certainly better than the vCard I cooked ... so yeah needles to say I'm sexcited to get her up and running.

Now I just need (want) a Pro-Photo Monitor that covers the full colour gamuts, that's next!
LMAO, then maybe I'll work on fixing my broked letter "C"

Yippee, GOOD to GO, just have to calibrate my monitor :p
... Well, I'm certainly impressed with the clock
... and according the reviews they say this vCard is good for a 12% overclock, more with 3d-party cooling. I will have to test that claim of course ...

Gratz wood. Its always like Christmas morning when you get a new GPU upgrade. :)

Since Photoshop was mentioned, in case you have premier or After effects, you MAY need to manually add your card to the white list file to get the CUDA accelerated features. I think Photoshop is fine by default, but you do need to go into the preferences and select hardware acceleration.

    "cuda_supported_cards.txt"

If I recall correctly its just in the same folder as the exe.

    2GB DDR5
... Given the card only cost me $299cad I'm doing OK, I'm luving it. I mean it's great NOW my 'Toaster' is re-writing the screen (the browser) faster than I can type, just wasn't so with the on-board GPU ... In fact it was just a miserable PIA  and being able to GAME (oooh the JOY) and to be viewing VIDs in HD again is just the 'icing'

EDIT: I should have mentioned, I'm using nowhere near this vCard's FULL potential. My MB is a really OLd (2000Mhz AMD cPU) with one PCIe version 2 slot, but of course I need to upgrade to get the PCIe v.3 slot the GTX 760 supports {LOL} maybe NEXT week, eh ... errr  correction, I had to look it up but the slot is actually PCIe v.1 which SUKs even more

Thanks, I appreciate the info although I'm not using Photoshop
... I have a copy of CS2 installed although I don't use it much unless I need to reference it for a tutorial or sumsuch nonsense. :(
... for what it's worth my primary is PaintShop Pro X4 with NIK Color Efex Pro 3.0 plugin

"Gratz wood. Its always like Christmas morning when you get a new GPU upgrade"
hehe, and thanks again, actually, it's better than Christmas ...

    Hey, Big Guy

    Long time we no see/hear?
Yup, just got the disks ready to load and I'll load-up the old heli-sim and maybe do a demo movie?

You're post got me curious about "CUDA accelerated features"
... but unfortunately, according to Corel, Paintshop Pro does NOT support those features.
Oh well at least it was educational :p

Yah, I just took a break for a while.

It will be interesting to hear how your sim works now, after all your past issues with it. There was quite a large Phoneix upgrade not long ago and another I noticed this morning, 5.0.p.

You know I had forget about that, but YES, I gotta try the 3D-First-Person in the Cockpit-Seat-of-the-Pants-Flying again, LOL

I remember the performance was miserable back then when I could get it work but it should be a far better experience now with the new vCard that's for sure ;)

That's IT ... now ya done it ...
... YOU've GONE AND motivated ME into finding the DISKs, be back soon ~ LMAO

    Oh MAN, I HATE complications,
I got the software installed but NOW I can't find the stupid cable/dongle
EDIT: Well I've had NO luck finding my cable just yet ...
but I did drop some cash on a NEW Solid State Hard Drive (120GB for $99)
Certainly looking forward to faster data-throughput

    Yes, exactly
... I know there is a name for it but the name escaped at the time {LMAO} old man memory I guess.
... But I have a general idea where it's hiding although I will need help to dig it out,
... But for now I have to wait until Monday so my 'maid' can help with the digging ;)

LOL, I'm still looking for the Tx Cable, however
... my new SSDrive arrived this morning, 120GB Kingston SSDNow V300 (manufacturer) and I'm just luvin the speed.

The KIT I bought came with 'cloning' software so I was up and running the new drive in less than an hour, w00t. However ALL is NOT perfect in the Happy Land of Woo because according to reviews the drive tested somewhat average, if not lower than average but cheap ... The V300s we're optimized for price over speed.

Nevertheless I'm happy with my first SSD, the drive only cost me 99 bucks. And my crappy old drive was a 10 year old, 35GB IDE so NOT only did I get BIG boost in overall speed but I gained the additional storage as my crappy OLD drive was feeling kinda cramped with less than 3Gb to play with.

Here's the review which tested the drive on a LINUX system {haha} just for you Yada ...

Yup, TIME to BUY was right for this Toaster ;)
... Now the only weak-link in the system is my MB and it's old CPU.

I agree, unfortunately it's proving to be a big PIA right now
... With my hardware issues, my chair not working right and my helper not have much time to help with the cause finding the darn thing has become quite the challenging.

Meh, it WILL be FOUND ...... I just don't know when?
