Don't know when, but if you use Google maps and flip it in to "earth" mode, they now have everything in our area in 3d down to the buildings and trees. Looks like they are using satellite data do pull this off since you can fly around trees and what not up on mountains. For sure and it helps with real life line of sight as well as altitude needed for your flight. For example there was a flight that I was wanting to do but later learned that I couldnt.
