We've got a Summit and have had luck with the stock tires and wheels. Our Summit is a stock brushed motor version so the power isn't too crazy. On our other models we've had nothing but good experience with Proline's (http://prolineracing.com/) tires.

Mine is bone stock brushed I think I'm using a 19t pinion gear I noticed yesterday that I have a gash in the outer side wall of two tires not sure how that happened as I was just running in high gear through a big mud hole I've been looking at some proline offerings I'm also thinking I want to upgrade to bead lock wheel I'm not finding any though

I really like these rock crushers but I'm a little concerned about how the summit axles will hold up to the thrashing theses would deliver

Of all my RC trucks I play with my summit the most I wanted to go brushless but have decided to keep it brushed my still go lipo though my hope is one day somebody will manufacture stronger diff cases and axles for it might go brushless then but doubt it I bought it because I knew one day I would have a trailer for my ax10 and a trailer for my airboat I'm building the car trailer now and will start airboat one soon both of those are pretty heavy so I'm hoping to beef up the axles to handle it

You will appreciate the MIP axles then. They are really strong.
    See them here:

We have a Traxxas E-Maxx that is the brushless edition and I think overall I think it is more durable than the Summit. It has four shocks per wheel which might be helpful if you plan to have monster truck for towing your boats.

A emaxx would probably be a better choice from a durability stand point and I've got tmaxx's and they take a lot of abuse I went with the summit for the 2spd and selectable lockers that's what I like most about the summit
