is there any one on here that know about guns. i have some one wanting to trade me a 303 british rifle. what would be the value in this gun. it is an mk 1 e feild
Yes, some of us on here know about guns. However, there are just too many variables to put a number to it. Go to GunBroker.com and do a search for the rifle. That will give you the best estimate of what these item are actually selling for. Also, just my opinion, but you should call the state police and run the serial number through them just to protect yourself.
Exactly what I thought. Numbers aren't language-specific. Pretty much everybody uses the Arabic number system. I'm thinking he means to say that it's not an American serial number, so it would likely be difficult to trace an out-of-country number. Maybe? ??? I'd guess it depends on whether is was manufactured in the UK for the US as opposed to manufactured there, for use there, and then brought here.
It doesn't matter where the firearm was manufactured. The reason for checking the serial number with the state police, not the ATF, is to be sure it isn't stolen or otherwise connected to a crime
