We're celebrating Halloween with a couple new looks. We set the default to "Halloween" which is a scary graveyard style and there is another called "Runaway" for you Zombie fans. But if you're not a fan of the Halloween look you can change it like this.

Click the word "Halloween" on the bottom left corner of the screen here:

    change-the-style.png

A popup box will open with the available styles. Select "Default" to return to the original style or try one of the other styles.

    Happy Halloween!

You're welcome Tiger. We wanted to announce the festive Halloween styles by making them the default so people wouldn't miss them.

I'm using the "Soft Responsive - coffee edition" which is pretty easy on the eyes.

Or maybe you'll like the Supertune Hotrod style.

Hey John... One thing about the halloween scheme that is really neat is how the pumpkins light up. That is totally cool! I wish we had that high contrast on the default version. On my laptop, there is so little contrast on the default that I have to adjust the screen just right to see what's active. I don't know why that is. My desktop is much easier to see. Guess I just wasn't in the mood for the halloween surprise yesterday. Mostly because I hate black backgrounds. Something depressing and hard to look at about those. Guess it makes sense for the halloween version, but not enough sense to leave it on my screen. Anyway... Thanks for all the work you do to keep this forum interesting. I know it's a lot of work. I really appreciate your tireless effort.

Thank you guys. I hope we can continue to add further seasonal and fun themes for you to enjoy.

Thank you Tiger. The pumpkins lighting up is one of the features I also like. I agree with you on the dark backgrounds. I like the looking themes from a style standpoint but I find them harder to use for extended periods.

Thank all of you guys for being Southern Oregon RC Members and sharing your models, builds and experience. It's what inspires and motivates me to keep these forums going.

Tiger - Thinking about what you mentioned about the contrast of the default themes "new post" icons I added a couple new themes today that may be better in that regard. They are also light themes so you may prefer one of them.

Note that the one called "Hydrogen" relocates the style selector to the bottom right corner as shown in this screen grab:

    hydrogen-style-celector-location.png

Let me know what you think of these. Somewhere down the line I should make a poll to find out which, if any, of these themes the members like best, or are at least using.

Great! I'm switching to Hydrogen. It's clean, simple, and super easy to read.

    Thanks! ...Tiger

Glad you like Hydrogen. I am really liking it also.

Hydrogen uses drop down menus instead of tabs. Hover your mouse over the Forums menu and you'll see the mark forums read menu item.

OK... Found it. You just have to click on Forum and get the drop down to see it. I really like having that button! I'm really liking everything about this new forum software you switched to. Everything just works really well and it's clean and simple. I'm here for a reason so I just want "Function". Like they say: "Tricks are for kids!"

    Thanks... Tiger

Cool, I'm glad you are liking the new forums.

I thought you were going to say "Trick or Treat is for kids". LOL ;)

There is also an Iphone specific theme that is much improved for mobile use now. Anyone having the problem with the half screen display should check it out. Thanks guys that really helped make viewing from all my devices easier.

You're welcome. Thank you for helping us test and troubleshoot this.

If you like any other of the new themes and would like a iPhone specific version let us know and we'll try and make one.

We've added another style to the forums called "Spectrum". Spectrum is a clean style with several user selectable color combinations.
To try the Spectrum style choose "Spectrum" from the style selector on the bottom left corner as shown at the beginning of this topic.
After you've enables Spectrum click the color selector as shown here:

    spectrum-color-selector.png

The color selector pane will open showing the available colors like this.

    spectrum-available-color-presets.png

Click on one of the colors to change the style.
Let us know if you like this style.
    Enjoy!
