:'( :'( :'( NEED YOUR HELP GPS LOST HIS HEX COPTER :'( :'( :'( We took off from the middle school in Rouge River, OR and we lost visual of the Hex Copter and never did see it again. It was flying North of the Middle school. We spent a little bit over 3 hours walking around looking high and low and never did find it. If you have any time to help look or if you have any ideas of where it might have gone please let us know so we can go look again as well. Which direction from the school? East West? I know the area well, how far out do you think it was? How high? If I get some idea where to start I can put up the helicopter and look around.
Looks like the video is working now. Kinda would like to try and see on top of the roof of that church as it might be up there. We took of from the middle school and went north.
Hey guys, sad events How about posting a Google Maps location for where you started and where you think the copter may have ended up. That would help us tremendously in helping out. Also, post some "Lost" posters around town, as well as letting the local police know of the lost craft. Anyone finding it may turn it in for a reward. you never know. John, was your phone on-board? If so have you tried calling it to see if maybe someone could hear it? For sure you should get the word out all through Rogue River and offer a reward for its return. Its too much money not to try everything! I'll call the few people I know there and get they're eyes out looking.
Wow john I will go looking today i live like less than a block from that football field! I will see if i can get a few flyers printed up!
There is a map at the end of the video and my wife is at a dr apt now but when she gets back i might be able to come out and help look today if anyone wants to meet up. I might be able to make it out there by noon or 1230
ill be checking this every little bit does anyone wana meet up and go look again today or anyone with a camera on a heli wana meet up and go look today and review the video to see if we can find it?
Not that I think it would help as I obviously don't get enough traffic but hey ya never know, every little bit eh ... http://w00d Sincerely wishing you, John and your searchers the best of luck [acronym=EYE See! In the video at 5:30 in the center of the screen you can see a black dot moving I wonder if the copter is somewhere in the area of the white lines
Im leaving now to go look again so if anyone wants to help feel free to give me a call ( three two four - zero eight one seven ) and we can meet up and keep looking for a bit
It will be Monday before I can get out there, day off. But I think your white lines are about right. I was thinking about looking from the 2,500' to 5,000' mark in those areas.
I went out and looked over areas that we had already looked as well as farther north on the east side of the creek and no luck finding it yet. I did walk up on 3 fox's, I was like ummmm O SHIT hope they dont attack me!!! I also looked in the big field to the west of the creek on the west side of the road north of the park.
Thank you Trevor. I really appreciate all your help. I still cannot thank you enough for staying with me all afternoon Wednesday. Anybody else would have said the hell with this!
I know and your welcome, thats what made me want to help. Knowing that other guys at the flying field would just stand there watching you do the walk of shame well not me. Because I would want help as well if it was the other way around.
Sorry to read this John. Did you have a fail safe set up? It would be interisting to know what happened if or when radio contact was lost. I suppose it would have just have been carried along with the breze until the battery ran down or contatct was lost?
I know I have this Thread started in three areas and would like to direct everyone over to this one only pls thanks. http://southernoregonrc.com/index.php?topic=1733
