[IMG] may·est we suggest a rename from the FAQ forum to teh FAQ/Suggestions forum

[IMG] and maybe an Electronics forum · you know the usual · if it moves electrons
        id·est:  Rx's, Tx's, Servos, Gyro's (not to be confused w/ meat on a stick), ESC's,
BEC's, Batteries (LIPO, NiMH, NiCad), Chargers, Controllers, Connectors and
        electronics in general

    [IMG] Yah or Nay or "jus go away w00d" {LOL}

      Thanks

I changed the title of the FAQ forum.  Thank you for the suggestion.

Do you propose a single electronics forum that covers cars, airplanes, helicopters, multirotor and boats all rolled into one, or a electronic forum in each discipline?

{IMO} I think "single" would work OK {KISS} ... just when we post it's made clear we know for which type of model the electronics applies

    thoughts anyone ??

I too am inclined toward a single subject area for electronics because they are common with all types of RC's.

    Would it be structured like???

    Electronics
      Transmitters & Receivers
      ESC's
      Batteries
      Servo's
      Cameras
      Motors

    you get the idea.

I mostly agree.  The only areas I question are helicopters (gyros, flybarless systems) and multirotor craft (completely unique flight control systems).  Then what about the FPV folks?

Maybe I am misunderstanding a fundamental point: Do you mean the electronics forum to be to discuss the various radio control modelling electronics and systems on their own merit, or as installed systems in the various genre of radio controlled modelling?  I presume a "build" thread would still contain all the relevant steps including the electronics related to the model.

My last question is do we create a separate category called electronics and break it down to servos, receivers/transmitters, gyros, batteries, etc. or just one forum called electronics under say the "General" category and lump them all together?

I also like the idea of an electronics area for the forum. It can just contain all electrical related posts and questions. Helis and all could go into the same place. Even nitro people with questions on the electric part of their systems could post in there. Most all the rc forums I use have a dedicated electronics section. We are small enough here that it would be easy enough for us all to navigate through the different vehicle typesI will post a couple links to one I frequent and you can check out the set up and topics discussed.

Yoda  I was only thinking the one ...

{IMO} I don't think we need it subcategorized unless the traffic for a particular product warrants it ...

How does that work?  We can add forums in that category as needed down the road if folks think it's appropriate.

Thank you guys.  Let me know if you see any other areas we can tweak to make these forums better.
