Not many around here into boats eh, specially Sail .... Well I built this one but never finished her almost 30 year ago ... Not really Rc I know but there was that option Bluenose - Fishing Schooner {hehe} Also found on the Canadian Dime w00d
In those days a kit was only a set of plans and a box of wood. If I remember only the ribbing was die cut but close to if not most of the rest which was almost everything on teh deck I had to fabricate from the plans She's 23" (L) x 4½" (W) x 22" (Bottom/Keel - top/mast) Thanks gents _____________________ EDIT: I was thinking about finishing, not sure but I'm "thinking" which for me is a good sign ... and again ... EDIT: for a bit of the boats History beside being a Canadian icon for the interested
Your welcome Ya can see why just about everybody in Canada knows this boat ... ... well they should as I showed in another link, it's even on our dimes
I started this 1m project in 2004, but sadly was crushed in a move. All hand done, just using the usmagic plans. So much work crushed I haven't had the desire to start over. Couple pics and the plans I used.
Forgot the plans. The pics were pretty early on, It was ready for glass right before it got smooshed. Tons of light filler and sanding, repeated over and over to get it smooth as silk. Too much in life right now to build another, build would be fun to find a decent size one RTR for the lakes.
Hey cool stuff hehe I thought I was the only one and this would be a orphan thread Thanks for Sharing [shadow=grey,left]w00d[/shadow]
Will thinking back the 30 years I was unemployed at the time so I had all the time in the world for building such things. Given all I'm interested in these days I can't see myself building another. For my boat I was thinking about varnishing and setting up some place for decoration as it's more for sentimental reasons I keep it around
