    That's "Heavy Duty".  ;)

Kidding aside - The arms are aluminum so you get a heat sink for each ESC.  I know lighter is usually better but also sometimes a little heft helps with fighting the wind, and a lot of the plastic arms flex and transfer the vibrations to your camera if you do AP or aerial video.

dont get me wrong i  love alum frames, well aside from signal blockage,  but those ecs mounted on the arms would never need the aluminum to dissipate heat, and only unless the arms are actually glued to the mosfets on esc's lol

I agree that the heat sink property is overkill.  So far I've never had one of my multirotor ESC get anything more than mildly warm, and those were the ones in my GAUI 500X in which the ESC are mounted inside the tube arms where there is zero airflow.  My DJI ESCs have never felt warm at all even on the hottest summer days.

But I don't think the aluminum blocking the RF signal is a greater concern than a lot of the carbon fiber frames that are on the market.  Your original mention of the weight is probably the biggest concern.  That is like carrying a extra action camera.
