sptstum519-1gm.jpeg I need help with any ideas on how to get the outter ring from a blown bearing in the rear hub . I do have plastic back ups. But I wanna try any salvage the aluminum hubs since I did spend $20 on them. Tapping it out isn't working. Here a photo of what it looks like before bearing.

Heat the aluminum part. If you have a heat gun use that, if not a strong hair dryer might work.

The hub. Wont that transfer the heat to the ring and make it expand more?

The hub is aluminum and the bearing collar is probably steel so they should expand at different rates. Heat the aluminum fast and hot then you can probably tap it out.

No glue or loctite. Just a snug fit.
