I can set the tail rotor to the max deg angle to the right for the fun of it and my heli still goes to the left. Any Thoughts?

Maybe throttle pitch curve? Do you have a high head speed before collective pitch starts? If the rotor speed is low then the tail rotor is not turning fast enough to produce enough thrust to win the battle.

Is the gyro set in the correct direction?

Here's a good "how to video" and it talks about direction at about 12:40. This is for a Futaba 401 but the idea is the same for all of them. They have setup videos on a bunch of different ones.

thanks ill check out the link. So I just got done playing with it and I set my Throttle Curve on my DX8 to

    0%
    36%
    58%
    75%
    100%

    And my Pitch Curve to

    0%
    0%
    50%
    75%
    100%

Seems as if the more I gave it in the Throttle Curve and less pitch I could control the spin to the left. I did notice that If I changed my Pitch curve to

    0%
    6%
    50%
    75%
    100%

    I couldnt control it

Setting these things up is the fun part.  ::)
I've done 5 or 6 of them and always find my self going back to check a video for something or another.  ;)
    Which gyro are you using?

    There's a video on the DX8 also.

I guess let me ask this too, Are my blades pointed in the correct direction?

So Top down the main rotor goes clockwise
    [IMG]

Tail goes looking at it from the left side counter clockwise

I found that by cranking my throttle curve up I got a more stable flight.  The downside is it did somewhat decrease my flight time.

I just checked my 450 helicopter throttle curve and this is what I'm using:

    0%
    90%
    96%
    96%
    96%

The thing I notice in you photo is the tail blades. They should turn up into the prop wash. If they are, you have the blades on backwards. That looks to be a belt driven tail, so if the rotation of the blades is not up into the prop wash you likely have the belt twisted the wrong way and shouldn't need to mess with the gyro.

Your main blades look fine, at least that's how mime turn.  ;)

Yup what Bill just said, tail blades are spinning they wrong way.

Moving on, here's some graphics I made up not too long ago for y'all ...

    The 'curves' recommended for beginners
... There's nothing special about them except they are simply the place to start.
... Used only to get the helicopter flying

From here we adjust or fine tune to our own liking.

As for the "helicopter turns left" is this a violent quick spinning or a gentle drift or rotation to the left ??
... If a "violent quick spin" check your Tail Servo direction ... In your Tx, try reversing ... If NOT then reverse the direction in the GYRO!

Last TIP, adjust your 'Expo' to around 20 ;)

Ty ill try those curves. As for the tail I twisted the belt so now the tsil rotor spins the other way, and yes the blades are on correct lol

So I tried it with the four blade tail rotor vs two also I moved the throttle curve up and those seemed to help. I was able to get stable flight!!! When I was flying I did notice that it looked like the main blades might not be tracking the same. Also I noticed that when the throttle is at the middle center position there is still a negative pitch on the blades. So yeah these will be some things that ill need to work on but other than that I was able to get stable flight.

    Gyro
Im using the 3 axis China made Tarot zyx-s and with this it seemed as if there were times when I had to turn the gyro gain off and back on again or unplug the battery and plug it in again before it would work correctly again. 2 issue might be do to crashing it kinda when it tipped over on the grass but Also I noticed that first half of the flight before the crash I had the sub trim for the tail rotor at 23 right. After the tip crash in the grass I had to move it to 48 right.

Trevor - I've got a brand new, still in the box JR G7703D gyro if you're interested.  This is it here:

    http://www.horizonhobby.com/products/g770-3d-gyro-JRPG7703D

It costs $189.99 at Horizon Hobby but I'd let you have it for $100 cash.

I have my eye on the Naza-H also.  That's definitely the way I would (will) go.

That's what tyson told me to get but I didn't want ti spend that much so thsts why I got this but in the end if I don't like this then maybe ill get that. I'm thinking maybe with this I just need to play with the settings. Also what about digital servos vs analog?

I'm using all digital servos.  On my Beam E4 I am using MKS DS95 on the swash and MKS DS95i on the tail.

In my JR 500e I am using JR 8917HV on the swash and JR DS8900G on the tail.
