Hi guys and gals, so I would really like to buy my father in law a descent little float / land plane for Christmas this year. He used to be really into flying rc's 30 or so years ago and was to the point where he would build them from scratch based on his own design. Every time he comes to visit and sees my trucks he lights up and starts telling me stories of his flying days and his builds.

I just know that if I got him setup with a good entry level plane that was simple to run and fly but still had a little room to grow, that he would really enjoy it!

The reason for the floats is because he lives outside Gold Beach up the Rogue River and spends alot of time fishing. There are some great smooth spots for a person to take off and land on the water.

My budget is in the neighborhood of $400 all in with batteries and charger.

    What would you suggest?

I have been looking at the Fly zone Beaver but am not sure.
