Ok, so I just ordered a Multiplex Easystar II kit. I have never done a plane before. It needs all electronics, and will be for FPV. What middle of the road servos would be good and what ESC/Motor combo? Not sure what size of prop either.

Yes FPV with Ardupilot. Either UHF or Taranis.

Cool. Are you looking to go for long range then?

Medium range, 2 miles would be nice, RTH, maybe Ardustation on my new tablet.

Here is a nice excavator easystar flight:

I've used a number of different kinds servos in my planes and the one I wish I would have used in all them where they are appropriate is the Hitec 11g HS-65HB Mighty Karbonite Feather Servo. I've not had any trouble with them and the gears are tough as nails and hold up much better than nylon.

You will post your progress on this, including the fpv gear? Pretty please. :)

Just catching up on this thread. I'm with bill on the HS-65's. What a great little servo!

Looks like the 65 servos are the choice. Prop came with the plane. Need to resize a photo for uploading here. Have not tried the software yet, maybe I will check it out. Looking for some CA glue that works for elapor foam. The Zacki brand is not at a main hobbies.

First order for things placed, waiting on UPS man. Will use the 65 servos, and looking at modding my dx6i into a Frsky Tx since the Taranis will never be available since it came out! Had and issue with my helicopter yesterday involving a metal fence :( heli is easy fix, but camera is not so good. Video coming soon.

Plane starting to take shape. Will do some photos when I can. The CA glue is making my eyeballs catch on fire so I am relaxing on the couch for a minute. Still need to order the Ardupilot and radio gear.

Looking good, are you able to mount most of the fpv gear in/on the canopy?
Your quad is missing an arm. :)
