So thought I would start a build thread on the Wraith. It's about a week or so old now and I am throwing ideas around on which direction to go. So to get things started I did some basic upgrades to improve it abilities and get it crawling better. Upgrades so far are... -New spur and pinion 87/16 -35t brushed Axial motor -battery relocate to the front -relocated esc / receiver -RRD 110mm crawler shocks -strut tower braces -longer spacing on upper shock mounting points -white dot ripsaw tires -weighted axial 8 hole beadlocks -aluminum rear upper links -savox sw-0231 servo -STRC aluminum steering links -Aluminum servo horn -weighted chassis for balance -waterproofed vehicle I have more cosmetic goodies on order but for now I am working on dialing in the suspension and making a small drop (droop) kit to lower the cg a little more. I'm really happy with the articulation and with the heavier weight it seems to crawl well. The gearing is still just a hair off but I think a 85 or 84 spur will put it about where it needs to be. Anyways, here are a few pix... And the rear with the brace...
Added a camera/phone mount to my crawler. Seems to work really well once I got the weight balance figured out. Now, if I could just figure out how to edit videos properly lol!
Most of the time when you see new pieces of sheet metal on an rc guys work bench, some custom parts are about to be fabricated... that is 100% true in this situation!
